Foundations for the Future School Selects Creative Solar USA for Cost-Effective Solar Installation
Project will save 96 tons of CO2 emissions annually and reduce utility bills
Kennesaw, GA– Foundations for the Future School, a private learning academy for child care and elementary grades, will inaugurate its use of solar energy this fall with an installation created by Kennesaw-based Creative Solar USA.
The school serves 200 students in two buildings on its Kennesaw campus, where solar arrays on each building totaling output of 95 kilowatts will soon begin to supply power to the campus.
The solar installation is just one aspect of the school’s longstanding commitment to principles of sustainability, Lynn McKinnon, Head of School, says. Although the school administration has been interested in solar energy since Foundations School was founded in 2004, the cost of solar installation did not reach affordable levels until recent years.
The school began its solar installation effort in earnest about two years ago, but the details of the installation took a long time to arrange.
When they selected Creative Solar USA for the project, McKinnon said school administrators were impressed by the company’s devotion to educating its customers in depth on the technical options available. They also appreciated the great care the Creative Solar team took to find the right fit for the school’s needs. Creative Solar USA even prepared a detailed report the school used to obtain the right financing arrangement for the project.
“We were new to solar and it’s very technical,” McKinnon said. “Creative Solar USA was very helpful and responsive to our questions.”
Thanks to the attention devoted to every aspect of the installation, Foundations for the Future will enjoy the benefits of clean, renewable energy. Its utility bill savings are expected to cover its investment in equipment within 10-12 years with no increase in annual expenditures. Then, because the panels have a generating lifespan of more than 35 years, the school can look forward to significant savings over the life of the installation.
Russell Seifert, CEO of Creative Solar USA, said he is particularly gratified to help a local school spend money wisely while reducing its carbon footprint.
“With solar energy, the cost of fuel never rises. Foundations for the Future can look forward to using its energy savings to benefit its students in other ways,” he said. “At Creative Solar USA, we are passionate about ensuring cleaner air and water for this growing generation to enjoy. This opportunity to take the mystery out of solar installation and create an asset the school can be proud of for decades to come is the essence of what we do.”
Offsetting 96 tons of CO2 annually, the solar panels save environmental degradation equivalent to taking a dozen cars permanently off the road or planting 70 new trees.
